HP HDD replacing on raid 5 array

Hi All, We have 1 HP Proliant Gen 8 server. We run ESXI server on it. Recently one of the HDD shows the predicitve fail in 3xHDD of Raid 5 Array setup. So we replace the predicitive failure one with new HDD.. After 3 consecutive day, the Amber light on replacing one just stay in steady condition and other running two HDD is showing the indicatior  not to pull out. In this Raid 5 Array we only has 600 GB. each on this HDD own 300 GB. I can't access the iLO since it's not working. Is there any way can we identify by seeing the HDD indicatior light for it's still in rebuilding array mode or it's degraded mode.  Your comments and suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Re: HP HDD replacing on raid 5 array

Dear Fred17

You can check the volume status from iLO web page, but as per you that you are unable to log in iLO web page. So, reboot the server, once POST screen appears, press F10 option for Intelligent Provisioning => After successful booting Intelligent Provisioning, click on skip button => then click on Performe Maintanance => Then click on Smart storage Administrator or HP SSA => select controller (configured controller for RAID5) => Here you can get status. for more details click on configuration to view HDD and array status. Please do not change any configuration.

I could provide you with clear and helpful instructions. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask. I'm here to help!

Have a great day!
