HP ML110 G3 SATA Speed issue

I have been struggling with a slow server running Novell 6.5 SP5. I don't know if it is the I/O or OS (or other). Server has 2gb memory and it is configured as RAID 1.
I am looking for a utility that will test I/O on this server.

Is this server software or hardware RAID?
