HP ML350 G5 & Openserver 6
Hi guys,
I have a HP ML350 G5 running Openserver 6, 4GB RAM, Raid 5.
I'm getting quite a few error messages and I'm hoping some of you will be able to help me out?
I've attached a snipet of my /var/adm/messages log file.
What has prompted the posting is about every 2 weeks, my system basically locks up and I have to reboot it. Not good.
So the things I'm worried about are the Samba error messages, and in particular the hpasmxl messages, that seem to appear around the time a reboot is going to be needed:
WARNING: hpasmxl: NetFN 0x4, command 0x2D timed out
WARNING: hp
WARNING: hpasmxl: Failed GET SENSOR READING, sensor 18
WARNING: hp
Any help from you guys will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
-David

Re: HP ML350 G5 & Openserver 6
I received some more of these messages today. Has anyone else ever seen them? If you need any more information I'll be glad to give it, just let me know what you'd like to know.

Re: HP ML350 G5 & Openserver 6
Hi,
I've seen these error messages several times before and they've always been seen on systems with ASR disabled.
Enabling ASR seemed to get rid of them.
Is ASR disabled on your server ?
Thanks,
Mr_B2k3

Re: HP ML350 G5 & Openserver 6
Hi Mr B2k3,
Sorry, I'm not particularly familiar with ASR, I assume you mean Automated System Recovery? Not sure though.
Maybe you mean something different. I'll check to see if I have something like that enabled.
Thanks,
-David
