HP P410i “Parity Initialization Status: Initialization Failed” How to fix?
Hello,
Having a little problem with a Smart Array P410i in a ProLiant DL380G6.
It's RAID5 consisting of 5 disks with an additional 6th disk as spare.
One of the disks had a failure. The disks has been replaced and in hpacucli ctrl slot=0 show config everything seems to be OK, the new disk is marked as spare.
But in the output of hpacucli ctrl slot=0 ld 1 show I can see that the Parity Initialization has the status Initialization Failed.
What can I do to reinitialize parity initialization?
Thank you in advance.
ADUReport is attached (.png extension needs to be removed).
Output of hpacucli ctrl all show config detail:

Re: HP P410i “Parity Initialization Status: Initialization Failed” How to fix?
Hi friend
You will need check statys of the all disks, because if one HDDs have read / write errors it that can cause the parity initialization failure of the logical volume. Other thing that can cause that is the Firmware version of the Smart Array controller.
So, I recommend that you check the firmware version and if is out of date, upgrade and check all disks in the Array Diagnostic Log and to isolate the read/write error.
If you collect the log, send to me and I can check for you.
Regards

Re: HP P410i “Parity Initialization Status: Initialization Failed” How to fix?
Thank you for the quick response.
This is the drive status information from hpacucli:
physicaldrive 1I:1:1 (port 1I:box 1:bay 1, 146 GB): OK
physicaldrive 1I:1:2 (port 1I:box 1:bay 2, 146 GB): OK
physicaldrive 1I:1:3 (port 1I:box 1:bay 3, 146 GB): OK
physicaldrive 1I:1:4 (port 1I:box 1:bay 4, 146 GB): OK
physicaldrive 2I:1:6 (port 2I:box 1:bay 6, 146 GB): OK
physicaldrive 2I:1:5 (port 2I:box 1:bay 5, 146 GB, spare): OK
Since the output from hpacucli ctrl slot=0 physicaldrive all show detail is already in the spoiler section of the original post, I am guessing you are asking for further information.

As for the Firmware Update: I would prefer not having to do an update, as the system is off site.
Though if I have to do an update, I am guessing this is the right one:

That would be version 6.64 (B)(1 Oct 2015). Currently installed is version 2.50

Re: HP P410i “Parity Initialization Status: Initialization Failed” How to fix?
Did you get a response back on this? I am experiencing the same issues. Drives look good but parity initialization failed on Array 1.
