HP ProLiant CSB-6 ATA-100 IDE RAID BIOS config util?
I have an ML330 G3 with the HP ProLiant CSB-6 ATA-100 IDE on-board RAID controller running SBS 2003.
The two 80GB internal drives are setup as a mirror and I had a drive fail (it was the MASTER).
I understand how to physically replace the failed drive and access the BIOS RAID config but I am NERVOUS-NELLY when I go to edit the array and I get the red-box warnings that proceeding will affect data on the 'affected drives.' Does the RAID system 'know' which drive is the existing good drive vs the new drive? Is it just as easy as pressing "Y"? Is there a guide manual or whitepaper or something for the BIOS RAID config util? I've read the various HP manuals and none of them actually cover the BIOS RAID util/settings/options. Thanks in advance!
