HP Proliant DL 360 Gen6 does not detect SSD

Hello,

We have two servers HP Proliant DL 360 Gen6 with HP H221 Host Bus Adapter and HP D2700 Disk Enclosure connected to it. And the issue is that server does not detect SSDs installed to HP D2700. All firmware is up to date.

These servers we want to use as a part of the CEPH cluster. SSDs are for caching.

How can I resolve this issue?

Re: HP Proliant DL 360 Gen6 does not detect SSD

Hi,

The QuickSpecs of HP H221 Host Bus Adapter indicates that only SAS and SATA drives to be supported. There is no mention of SSD as supported by the controller. Please refer to section Standard Features > Key Features. Also in section Standard Features > Capacity, the hard drive types an the maximum capacity is noted against them

Hope this helps!!

Regards,

Vijayasarathy

Re: HP Proliant DL 360 Gen6 does not detect SSD

We use Samsung 850 PRO 256 GB SSD . It is SATA SSD.

HP H221 definetly supports SSDs.

We have server with following configuration:

ProLiant DL360 G7 with HP H221 and MSA70 disk enclosure connected to it and same samsung SSDs. With this configuration server detects SSDs.
