HP Proliant DL140 Broadcom BCM 5704

After BIOS upgrade to version 05506T03 26 Oct 2005
I have problem to install driver for Broadcom BCM 5704 in Windows 2003R2 SP2
Tried both versions:
7.15.0.0-1 (A) (17 Nov 2003) - from HP
14.2.0.5a (08/06/10) - from Broadcom

Getting this error in Device Manager:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)"

Does anyone had the same problem?

Why would you need to reinstall the LAN driver after the BIOS upgrade? Did you reboot the server? That's what Microsoft is recommending.

It was a fresh installation of win2003 after BIOS upgrade.

I would expect that windows would already have the broadcom drivers running. Does the card work or is it still an unknown device?

They'r both appear in Network adapters with exclamation mark.
