HP Proliant DL380 and DL580 G5 RAM Upgrade
Hi
We want to upgrade our HP Proliant DL380 and DL580 G5 server memoy. I found 2 conflicting specs as below,
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c01673345
http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c04282492
First one says max. RAM capacity is 32 GB (8 X 4GB) and second spec says 64 GB (8 X 8GB). We wan to be sure as 8 GB DDR2 cards are quite expensive. Can you please let us know which spec to follow. It would be better if you can give details of RAM cards to upgrade to the max. capacity for both HP Proliant DL380 and DL580 G5 servers.
Thanks,

Re: HP Proliant DL380 and DL580 G5 RAM Upgrade
Hello Gururaj,
I believe the reason for the differences between the specs on the two links you have provided is the HP ProLiant DL380 G5 Server - Overview is a document for just the United States and the HP ProLiant DL380 G5 server QuickSpecs is a World Wide Specs and depends on model and country, models do not always have the same specs in every country. HP in the US does not have specifications on products in other countries.
I noticed you are in Ireland, we have local HP partners listed in your area on the HP Partner and Store Locator. They will have information on what the maximum RAM your HP ProLiant DL380 G5 Server supports and they should have the memory for your unit also. If you have any questions or need further assistance please reach out to me.
