Hp proliant dl380 g5 server- ILO configuration
Hello All,
i am a new HP user, and I am looking to forward to install ILO in my server, I am having few questions:-
1st that: How do I install/configure ILO on my server without rebooting &/or shutting down as it is already in production environment??
2nd that: I am having 17 physical HP server in my server room, so do I need static IPs for all of them from my ISP or I can use the reserved IPs from my DHCP.
3rd that: after installing/configuring ILO on all servers how can I access them from internet or any other/remote location???
Many thanks in advance...............!!!!!....:)

Re: Hp proliant dl380 g5 server- ILO configuration
Each server has a label with the default iLO credentials and hostname written on it.
Point your browser to the DHCP name from the label and log on using the password from the label. Once logged on, you can change IP and password if needed. The iLO works like any other PC or server, so it depends on your network configuration (firewalls etc) if you can access it from outside or not.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Hp proliant dl380 g5 server- ILO configuration
Best might be to have them in a network that you could VPN to from a remote location and a network that can't get to the Internet (vlan).

Re: Hp proliant dl380 g5 server- ILO configuration
You can configure the ILo, in various manners.
1. Use the ORCA during POST (Hit F8).
2. If PSP is installed on the server, there's a tool to configure the ILo from the OS.
3. download the Smart Start scripting tool kit, There's some scripts prepared for you (I have nver tried this one).
