HP PROLIANT DL380 G7 - SAS HDD HAS FAILED

Hi all!  I have a problem with a Proliant Server, I see a orange led in the front of the SAS HDD panel.

I used the HP SMART STORAGE ADMINISTRADOR, to save a report who i attach.

In resume, the status message

CRITAL STATUS MESSAGE,

274 (HDD is bad or missing)

298 (Contains a failed physical drive)

In other Proliant Server

WARNING

341 (Is predicted to fail soon)

I guess the only solution is to change the HDD, i'm right? or ir there another solution?

If i change the HDDs, how ill be proced? I have a Array.

Thank for the Help.

Best Regards.

Re: HP PROLIANT DL380 G7 - SAS HDD HAS FAILED

Hi Abelardo S,

From the attached picture and the ADU report, it can be concluded that the hard drive may be defective. Having said that, you may attempt the following to confirm the issue:

a. First step would be to take a complete valid backup of data on the server!!

b. Update the firmware of the hard drive. You may download the firmware from the following URL. Click on "Firmware - SAS Storage Disk (77)" and search with hard drive model number "EG0300FBDBR", download the package according to the operating system and flash the drives. Restart the server and then run the ADU report again to confirm if there is failure.

If so, then the hard drive needs replacement.
