HP ProLiant DL380 gen10 - Issue installing Windows Server 2016

Hi,

For the past couple of days, I've been trying to install Windows Server 2016 on my HP ProLiant DL380 gen10 with no success. I configured it with 2 RAIDs (RAID 1 and RAID 5). I have 6 SATA HDD drives installed on it. When I run "Rapid Setup" under Intelligent Provisioning (3.64.2), the OS setup crashes and gives me this error: "A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed." I also made sure that the right RAID controller was selected (HPE SmartArray P408i-a SR Gen10). Does anyone have any idea as to why this is happening?

Appreciate any responses, thank you!

Re: HP ProLiant DL380 gen10 - Issue installing Windows Server 2016

Hello,

Please do try the below steps.

1. Restore system defaults

Procedure

  1. From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration > BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) > SystemDefault Options > Restore Default System Settings.
  2. Select Yes, restore the default settings.
  3. Reboot the server.

2. Perform an SPP update.

Thanks.

Thanks ManBha! I already suspected it was an issue with the SPP. The issue was that I had to apply the 2021.05.04 SPP instead of the 2021.04 one.
