HP Proliant M10 Gen9 Initial Setup
I bought this server without OS i believe year and half ago. I did not get time due to busy schedule to check anything or do anything. Since Christmas vacation i am trying to install FreeNAS. But I am not able to see the display so cannot check the boot sequence. There is 2 display port in back i tried both directly converting display to HDMI and Display to VGA adapter but there is no display. I don't have a monitor with display port so need to use the adapter. Any idea on following will be of great help
1. Is there any different way i should be accessing boot sequence.
2. Since I am not able to see any display wanted to know if there is another way to check on whats going on.
This is just for home use and have never used HP servers before.

Re: HP Proliant M10 Gen9 Initial Setup
Display ports must be an add-on.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP Proliant M10 Gen9 Initial Setup
Hi Torsten,
Thanks for you reply.
This server did not come with any VGA port. Only integrated 2 display port. http://www.hp-ideal.com/uploads/HP_ProLiant_ML10_Generation_9_(Gen9).pdf
So i bought the MSI Gaming GeForce GT 710 2GB GDRR3 64-bit HDCP Support DirectX 12 OpenGL 4.5 Heat Sink Low Profile Graphics Card (GT 710 2GD3H LP) and connected the VGA to my monitor but still no display.
I want to change the startup to USB and then install FreeNas on Primary HDD and secondary 3 HDD use for Storage using FreeNAS.

While the majority of ProLiant servers have a standard VGA port, this entry level model has Display Port. You need to use an active Display Port to VGA or HDMI adapter, a passive adapter will not work properly
