hp Proliant memory host controller

hi all,

I have hp proliant DL740,after installing Windiws 2000 SP3 using smart start its performance was too bad, then I installed the OS without using Smart Start and it was very good,but after configure the new device the "hp ProLiant Memory Host controller" the performance went down. Then I have disabled this device and nothing happend.
the question is anyone has a good information about this device? is it for addressing hot plug Memory. I would like to inform u this server is just 4 bank full.

Yes, the HP Proliant memory host controller uses the hot plug memory driver. So unless you are (1) configured for memory RAID and (2) plan to hot swap memory, you do not need this driver.
