HP Proliant ML 350 G5 Maximum hard drive capacity for SFF

Hi

I have a HP Proliant ML350 G5 which I wanted to add maximum storage using SFF hard drives. The server has support for up to 8 hard drives. I have just discovered that the maximum capacity of a SFF hard drive that this server supports is 500GB. So I could have 8 x500GB.

The problem is that I have already ordered 8 x 600GB hard drives and now found out that the server does not support larger than 500gb.

Does anyone know if there is a way to make this work using the 600gb hard drives? is there any bios update that I could use? or any other recommendation would be appreciated.

Dear ndrepebx,

ML350 G5 supports internal maximum storage of 8X500 GB SFF hard drives.

600 GB Hard Drives are supported by LFF (Large Form Factor) up to 6 LFF.

Also you can use the 600 GB hard Drives with an external storage controller. More information available in the below URL under storage:

I was hoping if there was a solution to make it work with 600gb internal drives but no luck :(

 We are using the 36 GB SAS 2.5 SFF 15k disk PN 432322-001

  And use the ML 350 G5 395569-B21 with 8 slot  and E200i board

  I wish to replace the drive and see that the max it support s is a 500 GB drive.

   My question what drives are support by HP, what make/model for the ML 350 G5?

    I was looking at 493083-001 300 GB can I get that ?

     Is there a 500GB drive I can get ?

    I would assume i can order the new drives from HP ?

You can use 600,900, and 1.2TB 2.5" SFF 10K RPM SAS drives from the DL380 G7 with the ML350 G5 with the E200i or P400 controller. The P400 controller is superior for its larger battery backed write cache and cost like $100 used nowadays.
