HP Proliant ML350P Gen8 can't recognise ASUS HYPER M.2 X16 Gen 4 Card
Hello everyone!
I have issues with ASUS HYPER M.2 X16 Gen 4 Card which has two identical Crucial P3 Plus 1TB PCIe M.2 2280 SSDs installed on it since I'm planing to run them in RAID1 config.
The problem is that ML350P won't recognise the card. It will recognise one of the SSDs installed but if there are no SSDs installed on expension card the slot will report as empty in BIOS.
I don't know if that it it's normal behviour, but i would expect to at least give me a sign of life. I know that it is a 4th gen PCIe card in 3rd gen PCIe slot, but i don't see a reason why it wouldn't work. Is there any specific thing, that needs to be made, to make the whole thing work and I'm just missing it?
Thanks in advance

Re: HP Proliant ML350P Gen8 can't recognise ASUS HYPER M.2 X16 Gen 4 Card
Hello,
The presence of the card should at least be detected by the server. You may nstall a known working card in the slot in which this ASUS HYPER M.2 card is installed to help isolate between the slot or the card.
If the slot is good but the card is not detected, see if the card's power requirements are met. For instance, some expansion cards have power connectors to connect to the system board to supply the needed power for the card to perform correctly and be detected by the server's BIOS.
You may contact the card's manufacturer for steps to install it the way they recommend and see if that helps.
Regards,
