HP PSP install on Open SUSE 10.3 - not recognizing the OS
Trying to install the support pack on a HP DL380 G3 and getting the following error message:
The Linux O/S on this system cannot be identified
by the HP ProLiant Linux Deployment Utility.
Please check /etc/S?SE-release for correctness.
Cannot continue. Exiting.
Looked for a file in /etc/ with a name like S?SE-release but nothing is there ....
How can I trick the installer so that it will install on this OS version?
I have downloaded PSP version 7.91
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Re: HP PSP install on Open SUSE 10.3 - not recognizing the OS
Hi,
Try with the latest PSP version 8.0:(SLES 9)
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=316529&prodNameId=3288130&swEnvOID=1110&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-70eab64e692f4c3cbf7272fa4e
if that doesnt work , try installing the files individually from the link:
(SLES 9 x86)
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3288130&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=316529&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1110#78221
you will have to install the drivers and the system management softwares for the server.
Regards,
Akarsh
