HP SAS Disk is not detecting in ProLiant ML350 Gen9 RAID B140i Controller
I purchased two disks and installed them in the HP 350 G9 Server, it's not detecting.
HP Disk- 638521-002 HP G8 G9 3-TB 6G 7.2K 3.5 SAS
I used WD 4TB disk with Gen 9 caddy, inserted it to make sure the interfaces are working, confirmed - they are working and listed the WD HDD in the iLO. So I confirmed interfaces are working!
I swapped the caddy, and fixed the HP disk again; it's still not detecting.
I hope, even if the disk is faulty, it should list in the iLO and controller - it should show as degraded or faulty.
Raid Controller B140i is not detecting at all. I updated the firmware of iLO to the latest version, the problem continues and does not list the disk.
Can you guys suggest fixing the issue?

B140i support only SATA drives.

NOTE: No SAS supported
Hope this helps!

Re: HP SAS Disk is not detecting in ProLiant ML350 Gen9 RAID B140i Controller
If I purchase and install the PCIe, HP Raid Controller adapter and move the SAS cable from the motherboard to this card, will it support SAS disk?
HP LSI SAS 6GB Raid Controller Card SAS9217-4i4e 725504-002
Thanks,

Looks like this adapter can support.
HP 726759-001 Smart Array H240ar 12gb/s Dual Port Pci-e 3.0 X8 Sas Smart Host Bus Adapter.
Correct?

Re: HP SAS Disk is not detecting in ProLiant ML350 Gen9 RAID B140i Controller
Yes, H240ar support SAS drives.
You can use it or choose any other supported Smart Array Controllers for Ml350 Gen9 which support both (SAS and SATA Drives)
