HP Smart Array with Super Micro Enclosure (LSI based expanders)
Hello all,
We have a DL360P Gen8 with a Smart Array P822 controller that is being used with a SuperMicro sc847de16 enclosure. This enclosure is a 45 disk JBOD with an LSI based expander in each backplane. The enclosure was intended for use with an LSI controller we transferred from another server to the HP, but due to resource conflicts, the LSI controller was replaced with a Smart Array controller.
The drives are all detected, and work well. Unfortunately, the enclosure is not seen, and no identification LEDs work, which will be a problem when a drive fails. Also, there is no monitoring of enclosure health for things like fans, power supplies, etc.
Any thoughts on whether it's possible to get a Smart Array controller to at least control LEDs on LSI based backplanes?
Thanks,
