Re: HP StorageWorks X1000 G2 is noisy, fans are running at high speed
our new X1600 (AP789B) is also very noisy. Is this normal?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugnbGJwG550
Under the preinstalled Windows with all HP Agents it is not quieter.

Re: HP StorageWorks X1000 G2 is noisy, fans are running at high speed
is there any info on this issue?
I just received one of these devices, an HP x1600 G2 NAS, and the fan noise is insane.
I cant find any settings to adjust the fans like there usually is in the bios as well.
please give us some feedback on this!

Re: HP StorageWorks X1000 G2 is noisy, fans are running at high speed
Dear All,
any solution to this topic? Just received 2 pcs X1400 G2 (base DL320). Fans are running full rpm.
I'm so glad the server room is on a different floor.....
Anybody experiencing the same problem, please post here. Perhaps the amount of posts will result in action at HP.

Re: HP StorageWorks X1000 G2 is noisy, fans are running at high speed
I have found a solution that works for me. No, I didin't place the X1400 in another building, it's easier....
If possible add the second RPS and the fans calm down.
Unfortunatley not all DL320 based models support 2 RPSs, but perhaps these models are not affected anyway? Please leave a reply and enlighten me and the others.

Re: HP StorageWorks X1000 G2 is noisy, fans are running at high speed
I just purchased the head unit from the set X1800 (DL380 G7). I can't stand these screaming fans! I never heard another server run this loud. Only one CPU is populated so the extra fans are not present. I can only imagine what this thing would sound like if the extra fans were present.
Please help as I will need a hearing aid soon!
