HP system management homepage login issue

Hi,

I have a windows 2000 server where in I am unable to logon to HP system management homepage with administrator password.I have the password listed in a file but if I try that i get the error as login rejected.Do we have any way of resetting the password?

I am unable to open the HP array configuration utility because of this.

Thanks & Regards

Re: HP system management homepage login issue

hi

check this

Just go to the directory:
c:\compaq\wbem\homepage

Edit the following files :
- cpqhmmd.ini

[HMMDConfiguration]
AnonymousAccess=True
LocalSecurityAccess=true
SleepModeCheck=false

- cpqhmmdx.ini
[HMMDConfiguration]
LocalAccessEnabled=true
LocalAccessType=Administrator

Then restart the services of HP from the Services mmc console of windows (particularly the HP Insight Foundation Agent service)

Then try to open the manage homepage again. You should be able to access the site. Your browser will use the ADMINISTRATOR access by default.

Just dont forget that as soon as you are logged in change the password and revert the changes that you have made to the mentioned files. And restart the services again to ensure that youll restore the security settings.

Hope this helps.

--------------
Or

Replace the CPQHMMD.ACL file with one from a server with a known system management password.
