HP Update Utility
Hi, I wish to perform an offline firmware update of a 5304 Smartarray controller in a Proliant G2. An online update is not an option.
I have the .scexe file and now I need the hp update utility. I do not have the Smartstart subscription service CDs , i.e. firmware update CD. I have all versions of Smartstart up to 7.10.
Is there no way to update the firmware from a cold boot without having to pay for the subscription service? I can't believe you cannot download the hp update utility anywhere.
Thanks for any information.
Rosco.

Re: HP Update Utility
It's a good thing you can't believe it. You can download it. The firmware maintenance CD is available at:

The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: HP Update Utility
Hi,
Yes good option is download the the CD ISO
OR
visit the below link to create afollow to do so.
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/storage/us/download/14694.html
Go through the instllation instruction you wont require a CD.
Upgrading or flashing the Smart Array 5300 Controller or Smart Array Cluster controllers can take ten or more minutes.
