Hello,
Our organization was donated several HP servers from Gen7 to Gen9. When we try to reconfigure the drives on the Gen9 server, the system states to use the offline storage configuration tool. We tried hpacuoffline-9.40-12.0-x86 but it could not find the 440ar card. Any suggestions?

Re: HPE Offline Storage Configuration tool for DL360 Gen9 Smart Array 440ar
Hello,
Sometimes when the controller and ACU software in use are far enough apart in versions, then it is possible it may not recognize the controller.
Intelligent Provisioning (IP) will have an option to configure it, but if the version of IP is too old you may have a problem doing that. You can update IP by downloading the ISO, mounting it in the iLO virtual media (or possibly creating a bootable USB key from it), and letting the server boot up to it.

If you have a SPP for Gen9 servers, you will also have the option to boot from this ISO and configure the array from there.

Re: HPE Offline Storage Configuration tool for DL360 Gen9 Smart Array 440ar
Thanks for the information. I downloaded the ISO from the link and it did not boot when I flashed it to a USB. I finally got into the ILO but it is not licensed for virtual media.
Note: This iLO does not have a license installed that enables the Virtual Media feature (local media via IRC). Refer to the Licensing page for more information.

The ISO not a bootable image? I even tried Gen10 SPP but it also did not boot from the USB. We did not receive any media with the equipment.

Re: HPE Offline Storage Configuration tool for DL360 Gen9 Smart Array 440ar
Hello,
Both the SPP and IP are bootable ISO's. One thing that you may be able to try, if it hasn't been used already with this server is an iLO trial license:
https://www.hpe.com/us/en/resources/integrated-systems/ilo-advanced-trial.html
This should be good for 90 days and would, at least, get you past this problem. If you are pretty sure you created the bootable USB correctly then you may want to reset the BIOS to manufacturing defaults as it is possible the boot options in the BIOS have been modified.

Hello,
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/swd/detail?swItemId=MTX_a5907d37073a49e3938f79be55#tab-history Received a failed to flash nvram message after I was able to mount the ISO and boot to it. I am going to try the Gen10 SPP as the Gen9 software requires a current support contract.

Re: HPE Offline Storage Configuration tool for DL360 Gen9 Smart Array 440ar
Hello,
Now the screen is showing question marks inside boxes on the whole screen. I believe that when it tried to flash it broke something. Two restarts corrected this behavior. All I need to do is set the 440ar to IT mode as I am only putting one SSD drive in it for a single application.
