We purchased DL360 Gen 10 Plus Server with SAS Disk Drives. The S100i SR embedded controller obviously will not work with the SAS drives as its for SATA only. The server also has a slot MR416i controller, I have configured this as a RAID 6 with the four SAS 2.4TB drives. My issue is when I try and install an operating system on the server it indicates that there are no available drives. It seems like that it is still pointing to the S100i SR controller, is there a configuration I am missing to utilise the MR416i controller? Would the driver be pre-installed?
Any ideas would be really appreciate, thank you.

Re: HP Proliant DL360 Gen 10 Plus - Controller configuration
Hi Stepri,
Since you are able to configure the RAID 6, I assume it has stable firmware version and RAID mode is enabled in HPSSA.
You get "Set bootable logical drive" option in HPSSA. Please choose the disk to be configured as logical drive.
Thank you !

SolutionHello,
The MR416i cannot be configured using SSA. You must cnfigure the controller in System Utilities.
- Access System Utilities by pressing F9 during POST
- From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration > HPE MR416i-a Gen10+
- Select Main Menu
- Configuration Management > Create Logical Drive
- Select RAID Level
- Select Drives > Apply Changes > Ok
- Name the Logical Drive > Save Configuration
- Check the Confirm box > Click on Yes - Ok
Hopefully this helps,

Re: HP Proliant DL360 Gen 10 Plus - Controller configuration
Thank you, this resolved the issue, and was then able to use rapid set up to install Win Server 2016 operating system. Interesting that it wouldn't let me use the .iso for Win Server 2012 r2, however 2016 or 2019 was fine. I will test a 2012 r2 restore through server backup and see if it lets me do it this way.

Re: HP Proliant DL360 Gen 10 Plus - Controller configuration
Hello,
Sorry for taking so long to respond. So let me make sure I understand.
You have a DL360 Gen10 Plus server with the MR 416 controller, right?
Have you configured the RAID and created a logical drive?
You are trying to install Windows Server?
Did you create a bootable USB from the iso?
Where exactly are you seeing the no driver found error?

Re: HP Proliant DL360 Gen 10 Plus - Controller configuration
The problem is that the driver for the raid controller is not in the Windows installation iso. You should download the driver and put it on a stick and load it during the installation procedure.
