HPE Reference Architecture and Implementation Guides for Azure Stack (HCI/Local)
Hello HPE Community,
Our team is currently evaluating the feasibility of implementing an Azure Stack HCI (or Azure Local, given the recent rebranding) solution on HPE ProLiant Gen11 servers for a production environment.
We're looking for official HPE reference architecture documents, implementation guides, and detailed specifications that demonstrate how these solutions are designed for and can be successfully deployed in a production setting.
Specifically, we're interested in documentation that covers aspects such as:
Best practices for hardware sizing and configuration on HPE ProLiant Gen11 for various workloads (e.g., general virtualization, VDI, SQL Server, etc.).
Networking design and configuration for Azure Stack HCI/Local clusters on HPE infrastructure (e.g., recommended switch models, cabling, VLANs, RDMA configuration).
Storage best practices (e.g., disk types, capacities, resiliency options with Storage Spaces Direct, NVMe vs. SSD).
High availability and disaster recovery considerations within an HPE-based Azure Stack HCI/Local deployment.
Management and monitoring tools (e.g., integration with HPE OneView, Windows Admin Center, Azure Arc).
Security best practices for production deployments.
Scalability considerations for growing environments.
Any specific validated designs or blueprints from HPE for Azure Stack HCI/Local that illustrate successful production implementations.
While we've seen general information on HPE's website regarding their partnership with Microsoft for Azure Stack solutions, we're hoping to find more in-depth, prescriptive guides that we can use as a definitive reference for our project.
Has anyone in the community successfully implemented Azure Stack HCI/Local on HPE ProLiant Gen11 in a production environment and can share insights or point to specific HPE documentation that was invaluable to your deployment?
Any links to white papers, solution briefs, technical deep-dives, or even customer case studies would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
Best regards,
Andreas
