Hello everybody!!!
I have 2 units of HP PROLIANT ML 350 GEN 10 with a RAID 10 SSD SAMSUNG disks over HPE SMART ARRAY P408 (2GB CACHE). It seem's to have a good performance:

But everytime I try to transfer large files to the P408i RAID10 unit... performance DROPS after a copule of minutes...
FROM 10Gbnic to P408i: (from 900MB/s to 50MB/s):

FROM INTERNAL NVME disc to P408i: (from 900MB/s to 40MB/s):

FROM INTERNAL SSD_AHCI to P408i (from 550 MB/s to 36MB/s)
I installed both SSD and NVMe PCI-E to the server and I don't have this behavior... there's no drop performance at all.
FROM 10GbNIC to NVME:

FROM 10GbNIC to AHCI _SSD:

I have another HP PROLIANT ML350 GEN10 with the same SMART ARRAY CONTROLLER, same firmware, same driver, same cache configuration and doesn't perforrme this problem!!!
Hope someone can help me!!

Re: HPE SMART ARRAY P408i PERFORMANCE DROP
Hi @nexus1024
1. Update the system firmware and the controller firmware.
2. Check whether the cache is enabled in logical drive.
3. Keep the parameters such as R/W ratio and stripe / block size to default, if changed.
4. Try once, by turning off the smart path and cache manager. Sometimes, it helps for RAID 10.

Re: HPE SMART ARRAY P408i PERFORMANCE DROP
While we understand that there are two ML servers having same firmware driver versions, since we are facing issue on one of them, the starting point for troubleshooting would be to update the controller firmware & Driver.
Also, since we are using a 3rd party SSD, any chances we have data relevant for HPE drives?
For further proactive assistance, we would require certain logs to be analyzed. Since this is a public forum, please log a support case with us on our support site - https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/?language=en_US
