HPE Smart Array P816i-a SR Gen10 changing box number
Hi All,
I have 4 DL380 Gen10 servers with "HPE Smart Array P816i-a SR Gen10"
On 3 servers I have "Internal Drive Cage at Port 3I, Box 3, OK", on the 4th I have "Internal Drive Cage at Port 3I, Box 8, OK",
so my disk are named
3I:8:1 (SAS HDD, 4.7 TB), 3I:8:2 (SAS HDD, 4.7 TB), 3I:8:3 (SAS HDD, 4.7 TB), 3I:8:4 (SAS HDD, 4.7 TB)
instead of
3I:3:1 (SAS HDD, 4.7 TB), 3I:3:2 (SAS HDD, 4.7 TB), 3I:3:3 (SAS HDD, 4.7 TB), 3I:3:4 (SAS HDD, 4.7 TB)
Is there any ways to rename box 8 in box 3?
Thanks

Re: HPE Smart Array P816i-a SR Gen10 changing box number
Hi,
Box number can not be changed manually, however Hard Disk Drive (HDD) functionality are not affected.
As a suggestion:
- Disconnect HDD, HDD backplane and backplane cables ,
-Clear controller configuration from SSA,
-Reconnect HDD, HDD backplane and backplane cables .
Check the status,
If further assistance requried, Please raise a HW case.
Regards,
Sudhir
