hpqilo2 errors in event log

Hi All.

I have a ML350 G5 server running Windows 2003 SP2 64Bit and have been getting some hpqilo2 errors in the event log since upgrading to PSP 8.20. Below are some of the errors that im getting. All are event id 57 and the source is hpqilo2:

Maximum PwrMeter count (1) exceeded
Duplicate thermal sensor indices: 7
Duplicate thermal sensor instances: 6
Duplicate thermal sensor indices: 6
Duplicate fan instances: 2
Duplicate fan instances: 1
Insert logical container 3 failed
Duplicate container instances: 9
Insert logical container 3 failed
Maximum indicator count (1) exceeded
Failed GET SENSOR READING, sensor 10
NetFN 0x4, command 0x2D timed out

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Is it because of PSP 8.20 and if so is there any fix?

Thanks
Dean

Re: hpqilo2 errors in event log

It is an issue caused by the HP ILO2 Controller driver on PSP 8.20. This is seen on windows 2003 64bit and 32bit. As far as I know HP is working on a solution at this moment the workaround is to force a downgrade to PSP 8.15 or to download the ILO Management Controller Driver to 1.80, SMH version to 2.1.15.210 and HP Insight Management agents to 8.15, which are part of PSP 8.15 by force downgrade.

Re: hpqilo2 errors in event log

Hello All,

I've installed hpqilo2 fix for my HP DL380G5, to remove this event ID57, but error still appears. Do I need server reboot?
Best regards

Re: hpqilo2 errors in event log

I have also installed the updated driver (1.11.2.0) on my ML350 G5 server and event are still there.

Have rebooted, buy no joy...

Can anyone tell me if version 1.11.1.0 works?

Re: hpqilo2 errors in event log

I am seeing the same thing that Chad is seeing.

BL460C G1

This is the last event before fully patched 2008x64 goes into a panic

Log Name: System
Source: hpqilo2
Date: 10/19/2009 8:21:22 PM
Event ID: 57
Task Category: None
Level: Warning
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer:
Description:
NetFN 0x36, command 0x2 timed out

The IML lists a Blue Screen Trap when the server was brought back online.

Blue Screen Trap (BugCheck, STOP: 0x0000009F (0x0000000000000003, 0xFFFFFA8006EF9060, 0xFFFFFA80071F4790, 0xFFFFFA80087443F0))

Server has 8.20 release of PSP installed. I can upgrade to 8.30 but I do not see a fix for this specific issue in it.

Has anyone else seen this issue?

Best Regards,

Michael Barbere
