ILO 5: AlertMail general failure

I have an internal mail server in the same network range as the ilo address. I have set up alertmail with smtp port 587 as instructed by HPE iLO 5 User Guide. But when I test sending mail, I still get the error:
alertmail general failure
Initial Update 08/21/2024 15:34:46 Event Class 0x23 Event Code 0x442 Recommended Action Confirm that all Alert Mail configurations are correct (valid DNS/FQDN, SMTP server, etc)
My ilo version is ilo 5 version 2.42 Apr 05 2021. I have configured sending mail with idrac and it was successful but when I apply it on ilo, it fails. Please help me

Also suggest you to Please keep your server firmware updated. Please download SPP to upgrade firmware codes. Our firmware code is out dated.

I followed the instructions you sent but the test result for sending email still failed. Is the cause due to the firmware?

Dear longhd 

It is recomended for firmware need to be upgraded. if your firmware versions are lower it might be create issues.
