Betreff: ILo3 API
Hi,
as far as I know, there is no REST or RedFish in iLO-3, it is over 10 years old.
This is, what I found in the "Integrated Lights-Out 3 technology Technology brief":
iLO 3 supports the Systems Management Architecture for Server Hardware (SMASH) initiative. With the
SMASH Server Management Command Line Protocol (SM CLP), you can interrogate and control systems
directly. This lets you perform tasks like reading the iLO 3 system log to find server status or to monitor
server health. You can also use scripting with command-line protocols to manage a wide range of servers
interactively. You can use SM CLP to configure, update, and operate iLO 3 features on HP ProLiant ML/DL
300 and 500 series servers, ProLiant SL products, and ProLiant BL server blades.
iLO 3 also supports IPMI over LAN/DCMI to perform simple monitoring and control in scale-out
environments. We add an additional interface for accessing IPMI information from iLO 3 and IPMI
sensors. Our implementation allows HP SIM to access IPMI sensors through the WS-Management
interface. The exact type and number of sensors depends on the server. IPMI over LAN/DCMI performs
monitoring and control operations that let you determine whether a server is offline. It also provides the
ability to power on and power off servers remotely.
The future iLO 3 v1.15 firmware will support the Web Services (WS) Management initiative. WSManagement
will provide a common method for systems to access and exchange management
information across the IT infrastructure. The specification defines a Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP)-
based protocol, supporting more than a get/set collection of simple variables. WS-Management also
defines a mapping of the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) Common Information Model (CIM).
WS-Management is emerging as the preferred programmatic interface for system management.
Programmatic protocols, such as WS-Management, are machine-oriented and enable applications to
manage the systems. For example, HP SIM uses WS-Management to interact with iLO 3 processors. Future
firmware revisions will continue to broaden WS-Management support.
Hopefully, this helps you, Cali
