ILO6 Vers. 1.69 - no Fqdn as Syslog entry possible anymore?

Hello!

After updating the ilo firmware to version 1.69 on our DL360 Gen11 servers some time ago we just now realized that the possibility to setup a remote syslog destination with an fqdn is not possible anymore. It is now mandatory to use an IP adress. Is there a reason for that or was that change maybe not intended? The newest ilo version for Gen10 Servers had an update as well in june and did not get that change.

In our case we do have some changes in the infrastructure where the event monitoring changes to different systems and using the fqdn does make it easier..

Kind Regards,

Thomas

Re: ILO6 Vers. 1.69 - no Fqdn as Syslog entry possible anymore?

Hi SydUmar_1,
we noticed the changes for version 1.70. Thanks! Although it does not state our issue being resolved it still worked and we could set an fqdn again for the syslog server.

Thanks!

Greetings,

Thomas
