INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE
Hi All,
we have a Proliant ml-370T01. After a power failure, the server is not booting, stopping with a blue screen, with the INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE message. We have an integrated smart array controller and 4 physical hard drives. After running the diagnostic tool, we get an error on the controller, the error is Failed Read Test BMIC Fatal Error, error number 1070-55. We would appreciate any insight on how to get this machine to work again.
Thanks
Jeff

Re: INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE
Hello Jeff,
It's possible that the system has lost track as to where it should be booting from. You may need to boot your system with a smart start CD and then make sure that the boot controller order is set to where the boot partition HDD is. Also you may want to update the firmware of the controller as well and here is the link to download the latest firmware of the controller:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/14694.html
You will be asked for 4 diskettes but just make the very first one and COLD boot your system with it.
Regards,
