Install CentOS 5.1 on DL140 G3
I can't install CentOS 5.1 (32bit version) on a DL140 G3. It asks for the storage controller although the HP documentation says that RHEL5 (and CentOS being an RHEL clone) is supported. Unfortunately the software configuration guide wasn't updated and only explains installation on RHEL4. I also tried using the latest driver (mptlinux-4.00.13.01-2.rhel5.i686.dd) from a USB stick, but this fails either (I can choose the file to install, but it comes back with "no devices of the appropriate type were found on the driver disk".
The controller is configured for RAID1 on two SATA disks and this seems to be working just fine. I see that there are recommendations for several RAID controllers to set them to "Mass Storage" mode (from i2o) to get installations on many Linux versions done. However, the config utility for this SAS1068 doesn't have such an option.
Thanks for any help! Do you need any more information?
