Install SAS disk WITH DATA in HP Proliant ML350G5
Hi. I have a SAS disk that contains data from one server. A RAID0 configuration single volume. Pretty standard. Now I need to install it in another server, a Proliant ML350 G5. I need to import the volume without deleting the data in it. Is this possible?? When I insert the disk it becomes available in the Array Configuration Utility to create a new RAID but I do not wish to erase it.

Re: Install SAS disk WITH DATA in HP Proliant ML350G5
If ACU wants to create an array, I'd assume the previous RAID 0 configuration was not created using a Smart Array controller. if this is a correct assumption, you will lose the data if you let ACU create an array. You can still get in this situation if the Smart Array your trying to use has older firmware than the controller the drive was originally configured with.
