Installing P440 into ML150 Gen 9 tower?
I am having some trouble with this and hope someone can help. I used the Options Parts article (https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=c04519132#N11271) to order a compatible P440 storage card (726821-B21) and battery. The card has arrived but it has an "Internal x8 mini-SAS double-wide port" so the mini-SAS connector that currently connects the backplane to the motherboard will not fit it.
I then noticed on the options list "HP ML150 Gen9 Mini SAS P440/P840 cable kit" 784608-B21. When I look up images of this kit on Part Surfer, I can't work out how it will connect to my server as it looks like it expects the cable that currently connects the backplane to the motherboard to be removable but on this server it is wired into the backplane.
Is it possible to install this card into this tower server without replacing the backplane? Any HP P440 install guide I have found suggests not. Many thanks

The service guide helped as it shows the different configurations and cabling, I have the Non-hot plug LFF drive bay so looks like I need to replace the drive cage to do this.

Hello,
Please refer the guides for identifying the correct drive cage configuration for the desired setup.
