Installing Server 2012R2 on a DL360 G7 - how hard can it be???
Hi all,
I'm hoping you can assist.
I'm trying to install Windows Server 2012R2 (from media) on a DL360 G7; I've created a raid 1+0 array with 2 disks, but when I begin the installation process it fails to load the driver stating 'No new device drivers were found...'
Fine! so i have downloaded what i believe to be the correct driver for a P410i controller and presented this to the installation, which then correctly identifies it as a Smart Array P410i controller - hurrah. However, when i choose to proceed it will fail again the 'No new device drivers were found...' error. I've tried downloading drivers from the HP website, extraciting from the HP Service Pack (09.2014) and all are failing with the same message.
any ideas?

This should help:

This should be the driver you need to get and extract:
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

I did this once and it worked. What to say without knowing more details?
Hope this helps!

Torsten.

With the driver you have recommended it still correctly identifies it as a Smart Array P410i controller, but then fails again when you proceed with 'No new device drivers were found'

Re: Installing Server 2012R2 on a DL360 G7 - how hard can it be???
Solved by putting the 2012r2 image on bootable USB flash drive - seems it doesn't like running the install from the DVD

Re: Installing Server 2012R2 on a DL360 G7 - how hard can it be???
Hmmm... DVD, well, that's your problem then.
I just realized I've always installed using ILO and mounting a virtual image of the ISO. I don't even get servers with an optical drive installed unless it just came that way for some reason. If I ever had to I'd use a portable DVD drive over USB.
Anyway, thanks for sharing, that should help others who may have this issue.

Re: Installing Server 2012R2 on a DL360 G7 - how hard can it be???
I had the same problem with a repurposed server. Had no issue with a RAID5, just with the RAID1 (01). The 2012R2 install would not detect the RAID1 drive, even with the drivers loaded. The solution was to do a restore defaults on the BIOS with the drive format option. After that it worked fine, didn't even need the drivers.
