Installing Server as BDC

When installing NT Server 4.0 on the server, I select it as a Backup Domain Controller, and at the Network Card setup, I choose the Have Disk... option to load the latest Compaq NetFlex-3 drivers from disk, and after going through the whole setup specifying IP's etc., it won't connect to the Microsoft domain. When I go back to the NIC screen and click on its properties, the system hangs. How can I install this server as an NT Server 4.0 BDC with the card working?
