Installing SIM 72 Agents on ESX 2.5.1

Hello

I have 1 server that I'm trying to configure the SIM agents, its a Proliant DL 385. We are running VMware ESX server 2.5.1 with all patches applied. I was able to install the 7.2.0 SIM agents just fine.

Here is the problem I can do a manual discover of this system from HP SIM 4.2 SP2, but I'm not getting any hardware reports. Under status information I'm only showing PING and SNMP. Also there is no information in the Data Collection report.

I can go to the server Systems Management Home page "2381" and I can see all the hardware components and there are no errors. I have imported the Certificate from the HP SIM server so thats not the issue.

any ideas. I'm really lost there..

Check snmpd.conf. Sounds like a community string problem.

I ended up finding out what it was, evidently SNMP doesnt like the FQDN of the SIM server. I put in the IP address and its working fine now.
