Installing W2K Pro on a DL320 Server
Hi everyone,
For some business reason I'm need to install Windows 2000 Professional on a DL320 3.06GHz G2 server. The problem is that the IDE is not being recognized when booting with the W2K Pro CD hence I choose S to search for a Mass Storage devices & then I'm asked to insert the driver diskette for the IDE. On Compaq/HP software & drivers site, I chose to download the driver for the "HP ProLiant Integrated Ultra ATA-100 Dual Channel Driver for Windows 2000/Server 2003"- which I believe is for my server, I then extracted the Softpaq to a floppy disk & then insert it in the DL320 server & pressed Enter. I was then asked to choose my IDE which I did but then I was prompted with an error message saying: "Unknown file type specified on line 3 in section Files.Scsi.MegaIDE100_NT5L". I spoke to Compaq & they confirmed to me that this is the correct driver but -understandably- they won't support anything to do with the server since I'm trying to install W2K Pro.
Can anyone please advise about the correct driver for the above IDE or how about to go with installing W2K Pro on this Dl320 server. Thanks allot.

Re: Installing W2K Pro on a DL320 Server
The problem is fixed now. What I needed to do is to Press F6 at the start of W2K Pro installation process to specify the IDE Controller drivers. It worked fine after that.
