Installing Windows 2000 w/o Smart Array Controller
I'm trying to install Win2K on my ProLiant 5000 (Dual Pro 200). I've recently removed the Smart Array Controller (3200) from the system due to Controller failure (I don't want to get into it). I would like to use the on-board UWS2 controller, but after I start the install, Win2K does not recognize the drives (the controller is "identified" as a sb8xx or something like that). I would really like to some help on this because, this box is just sitting around not doing anything right now, and I would like to get it working. Please let me know if more information is needed. Has anyone else tried installing Win2K on this box without the Smart Array controller?
Thanks in advance

Re: Installing Windows 2000 w/o Smart Array Controller
yes you will need a sofpaq..sp14437.exe run this and it will extract some files one of them being qrst5.exe..run this and it will create four diskettes..you need diskette 2...
next boot with 2000 cd an hit F6..do not let it detect mass storage devices..instead choose SPECIFY then OTHER and it will prompt you for a diskette..use diskette 2...when this finishes it will continue on with 2000 install..once 2000 is up you can run the latest CSP's off our site to bring the drivers to the latest
