Installing Windows doesn't work
Hello,
I want to install Windows 2022 Server Standard on an HPE ML350 Proliant G10. Intelligent Provisioning doesn't work at all (F10 only results in a black screen). A double-layer DVD in the standard drive is also not recognized. Since the install.wim file is larger than 4GB, I split the file into install.swm and install2.swm using DSIM. I created a USB flash drive using the instructions on this page: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00112595en_us&page=v34107610.html "Creating a bootable UEFI USB flash drive for installing Windows." The USB flash drive is recognized by the system. The message "Loading Files" appears, but after about 70% of the progress bar, the screen goes dark and nothing happens. Is there a special ISO for HPE-Server?
All other methods for creating a bootable drive (using Rufus or NTFS) have failed. The stick is not recognized.
Best Regards
Josef Weber

Re: Installing Windows doesn't work
Hi @WMBde
1) If you want to install the Windows OS using Intelligent Provisioning, please try to update the firmware of system components, including IP, using SPP.
2) Use the Intelligent Provisioning recovery media to update the Intelligent Provisioning to the latest available version.
Another method for OS installation is, if ILO is working, mount the OS ISO image using iLO Virtual Media.

Re: Installing Windows doesn't work
Hi,
Using iLO, as @Greeshma21 shows, is easy to use but slow to install.
I prefer using a USB SSD (M.2) Drive and Ventoy, which is very fast and simple to set up.
Be sure that the Server was changed from BIOS to UEFI Mode:

Re: Installing Windows doesn't work
Hi @Greeshma21,
thank you for your suggestions. After a few more attempts, I noticed, that the system seems to be fundamentally unable to recognize the UEFI USB sticks that I have created (GPT). However I tried a stick with a Linux Live Sytem with a MBR Boot Section and this System was booting well, despite, in the BIOS all settings are on UEFI.
Maybe I made a mistake in creating the UEFI-GPT Stick (according to the instructions above). But a stick, created with Rufus should be correct, isn't it?
Is there any setting in the BIOS, which I could have not seen?
Best Regards And Thanks, JW
