Re: Installing Windows NT
So try this one:
Run the Setup from NT Boot(setup)Disks an if the autodetecting of the massstorage Controllers is done, NT won't find the specific driver needed for the Compaq Array Controller. Now you can apply the CPQ Support Disk (array driver mostly disk 4) and if NT could load the driver you can proceed with the Setup!

Re: Installing Windows NT
For any NT 4.0 OS manual install that does not use the SmartStart assisted install method, you must download the required Compaq NT 4.0 SSD. See the readme files on the disks for installation instructions. You can download and make the required disks from this web addess.

Re: Installing Windows NT
- Copy files on the folder that contains smart-array-2's if files (under ntssd) (Smart Start CD).
- Install using the 3 floppy disks, specify (S) additional controllers, insert the floppy when required, choose integrated array controller.
- Do not install Network Support at this time (Intel NIC drivers may cause a STOP error)
- Install SSD from Smart Start CD (autorun), Reboot
- Copy files on "Intelnic" folder (SmartStart CD) to a floppy.
- Install Network support and choose Compaq NIC driver from floppy.
Ready (as far as OS is concerned)
Regards,
Julio
