Re: Integrated Lights-Out

It's not clear what the problem is. I you unable to get into the ILO, either through F8 or browser, anymore, because the administrator account was deleted?

I would recommend enabling security overide on the ILO to get in without requiring and username and password. Unfortunately you didn't include any info on which server you have, so I'm not able to provide info on where this is for this server.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: Integrated Lights-Out

Thank you for your answer and sorry I wasn't precise enough in my description.

The server is a DL 380 and it was the first attempt through F8 to get into the card. I was typing the username and password given on the sticker delivered with the brand new servers. And as I explained I did the dummest thing I ever did to delete the Administrator account. I am not sure how to override the security on the ILO, is there a jumper to reset thing on the ILO card?.

Please HELP.

Massimo

Re: Integrated Lights-Out

This is the DL380 G3?

I would recommend finding item #5 on the top cover illustration (System maintenance switchbank) and turn switch #1 on. This will not reset the ILO, but will allow you to get into the F8 again and create a new adminstrator account.

Re: Integrated Lights-Out

I don't think you can delete the administrator account? If this is possible, Compaq needs to fix this because it should not happen at all. Anyway, flash the firmware and I believe that your Lights-Out card comes with an initial password in the box attached to the adapter.
