intelligent provisioning no longer working after firmware update
Hi all,
bought me a hpe dl20 gen 10+. For work it is paramount the RAID controller is working. Out of the box it is not. Out of the box it is loud like a bat out of hell. Reading up online I learned updating the firmware would probably help.
Jumped through the usb-user-token-hoop and installed the latest firmware.
After reboot the intelligent provisioning isn't working anymore. I am able to select F10 and I do, but when the time comes it just doesn't open/start the IP but just goes about the normal boot sequence.
When I open the system utilities screen ->bios config -> server security there is NO longer a Intelligent Provisioning option.
You guys I am a dentist, no hardcore IT specialist. I just want it to work. Set the disks to raid 1 and install windows server...

Re: intelligent provisioning no longer working after firmware update
Dear flipje123
Please download intelligent Provisioning firmware package from Intelligent Provisioning Gen10 & Gen10+ . make a bootable pen drive useing USB Key Utility for Windows . boot your server and press F12 for boot option then select your USB drive to update Intelligent Provisioning. reboot the server and press F10 to boot into intelligent Provisioning.
For OS installation on your server HPE ProLiant Gen10 Servers - Configuring RAID And Installing Operating System Through Intelligent Provisioning (Express OS installation).
if you need more help, Please let me know.
Thanks & Regards...
Rabindra

Re: intelligent provisioning no longer working after firmware update
Thank you for the reply. I did what you said.
After running the repair kit for several times it worked. (got a "error flashint the NVRAM" a couple of times...).
However the same issue arose when attempting a new firmware upgrade (through the intelligent povisioning gui).
I can run the OS fine (windows server 22) however the fan is still very loud running the OS at idle. Around 85dB close tot the server unit.
Which is not accaptable for my user case.
Help is very much appreciated.

Re: intelligent provisioning no longer working after firmware update
I abandoned the intelligent provisioning route of trying to fix my problems.
I used the intel VROC.
The server is functioning without the last upgrade to the latest intelligent provisioning firmware version.
After installing AMS on the OS the fans finally quited themselves.
This way it fine for me. Thanks for the help. All the best, kind regards.
