I am writing to you with a question related to connecting to the Internet a ProLiant DL360 Gen10 server on which Windows Server 2019 x64 is installed. I encountered an unusual situation: when I directly connect an Ethernet cable to the server, I see that the network is detected, but, unfortunately, there is no access to the Internet. In an attempt to solve the problem, I manually set the IP address, subnet mask, gateway and DNS server, but, to my regret, these actions did not lead to the desired result.
ItтАЩs interesting that when using a router as an intermediate node between the server and the Internet (first I connect the Internet to the router, and from there I run a cable to the server), the connection occurs without any problems, and there is no longer any need to specifically register an IP address.
I would like to hear your opinions and recommendations on the presented problem. Perhaps some of you have encountered this or can suggest effective steps to resolve the problem. I would be grateful for any ideas and practical advice.

SolutionHi,
I would check the IP config with "ipconfig /all" in all 3 configs and check any differences.
Also, try "tracert google.com" and check, where it stops.
Ping the Gateway and DNS to check for any typos.

Re: Internet connection server ProLiant DL360 Gen10
Hello,
To be able to communicate to any network, one either needs to be part of that network by having the right IP address assignment or a router to route traffic between two network. If the server is able to connect when using a network, but not through direct connection, then it indicates that there is an issue of having correct network addressing, which appears to resolv when a router is connected.

Re: Internet connection server ProLiant DL360 Gen10
@Cali When the server is turned on and the system is booted, the following lines are displayed on the screen in the lower left corner: "ILO 5 IPv4 (unavailable)" and "ILO 5 IPv6 (0000:0000:0000:0000)". Perhaps this is the problem, and it prevents the successful configuration of the Internet connection on the server. Is this possible?

Re: Internet connection server ProLiant DL360 Gen10
Hi,
I don't think so.
iLO has its own Network Port (shown as Number
This iLO Port is only for remote Management and not for Operating System access.
The iLO Port IP is configured in the UEFI BIOS.
This is different from the Network Ports for the Operating System, this Network Ports are typically located in Slots 11,7,1 or 2.
