Invalid system disk. Replace the disk, and then press any key. DL380 G6
Hello all. Have a refurbed DL380 G6 that works great. Howver have Vsphere 5.5 installed and has been crashing lately, so tryng to reinstall fresh version of ESX 5.5
I use a USB flash drive to boot the OS image
System now cycles through with the error in the title.
Have tried numerous flash boot drives with valid bootable OS image
Have even tried a CD but same problem.
Any ideas how to get out of this loop?
Thanks

Re: Invalid system disk. Replace the disk, and then press any key. DL380 G6
Hi,
Have you configured RAID before installing OS?
May be the OS or installation media is unable to find any partition on the hard disk.
I am no VMware expert, but in Windows environment, the above error means so.
Use a HP SmartStart CD to create a RAID and then install OS.
BTW, DL380 G6 "Supports HP ESXi Offline Bundle for VMware vSphere 5.5 version 1.5 and forward"
To download VMware 5.5 U1.
Thank You!
I am a HP employee

Re: Invalid system disk. Replace the disk, and then press any key. DL380 G6
Have RAID configured and was working fine. I think when I tried to reinstall ESX it may have screwed up the boot parition
Not sure how to troubleshoot this
Thanks
