IP KVM Switch Resolution Limits

I have a 2x1x16 IP KVM switch and can't set my server resolution above 1024x768 even though the monitor and server graphics cards both support 1280x1024. I only have two servers connected to the switch with about 7ft of CAT5e for each server. The KVM is connected with a 20'KVM cable to the monitor, mouse, and keyboard. According to the KVM quick specs matrix, I should be able to bump up the resolution. I must be missing something. Any clues?
