IP, SUM, SPP... I'm a bit confused!
Hello,
I need to keep two gen8 servers up to date, but I'm a bit confused by the varoious technologies and tools available.
I installed Smart Update Manager (SUM) 8.5.7.
Then I downloaded Service Pack for Proliant (SPP) v.Gen8.1 (6 nov 2017) and used it as baseline for SUM.
This way I've been able to install a bounch of updates.
Unfortunately, the latest SPP for Gen8 servers is quite old, so many updates are not included.
As far as I remember, many years ago there was a tool that used to download updates directly from ftp.hp.com.
Is something similar still available?
Thank you!

Re: IP, SUM, SPP... I'm a bit confused!
You can go to spp.hpe.com/custom and download the SPPGen8.1 + Hotfix-Bundle. This is more current.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Hello
I think your refring to PSP (proliant support pack), but is not available after HPE G7 servers, from Gen 8 onwords only SPP is available.
You can go to spp.hpe.com/custom and download the SPPGen8.1 + Hotfix-Bundle. This is more current.
or you can download the respective BIOS & firmwares with individual link based on the installed OS from HPE web site.
Thanks & Regards,
Vinod Rawat
