is hdd P/N: 872475-B21 compatible with ProLiant ML350p Gen8
Hello,
i have ProLiant ML350p Gen8 - P/N: 669132-425 with raid 1 , two hdd drives HP model- EG0300FBVFL (HP P/N: 641552-001).
One of the drives failed and the closest avaible drive i found is P/N: 872475-B21.
Is this "HPE 300GB SAS 10K SFF SC DS HDD , P/N: 872475-B21 " compatible with my server ?
I found info that 12G drives can work with 6G speed. Is there anyone who used such scenario?

Hi Denik,
you can mix drives of different speeds, . The 12g drive supports 6g speed. The primary requirement to replace a failed drive is the replacement must be the same capacity or larger
You can refer to the quickspecs of the server to check the types of drives that are compatible to the server:-

But since the raid is failed i strongly recommend you to contact HPE support by logging a case.

Vijay

the 'new model' drive is newer than the server - so it is inpossible to be in 'supported list'
I was wondering if anyone has expirience with putting sas hdd for gen10 server in gen8 server.

Hello,
If the drive is not supported list, better to not to use. Always recommended to use the supported drive matrix.

The drive is much newer than the server. So it is impossible to be in the support list.
