Issue with Proliant Insight WBEM Provider and SMH
I want to set the SMH Data Source to WBEM instead of SNMP on my servers (because this allows updating disk firmware through SMH/VCA as well among other things).
It's working on one DL360 G7, but not on 4 of my DL 360 gen8. All servers running Windows Server 2008 R2. The WBEM providers are not recognized by the SMH, I have no option to choose the data source manually in the SMH and actually it should switch the data source to WBEM automatically once the providers are installed.
Here is the one working server and the HP software versions:
wmic product where "name like '%HP%'" get Name, Version
Name Version
HP Array Configuration Utility 8.70.9.0
HP Array Configuration Utility CLI 8.70.8.0
HP Insight Diagnostics Online Edition for Windows 8.7.0
HP Insight Management Agents 10.30.0.0
HP Insight Management WBEM Providers 10.30.0.0
HP Lights-Out Online Configuration Utility 4.7.0.0
HP ProLiant Health Monitor Service (X64) 3.20.0.0
HP ProLiant Integrated Management Log Viewer 7.5.0.0
HP ProLiant PCI-express Power Management Update for Windows 1.3.0.0
HP ProLiant iLO 3 WHEA Driver (X64) 3.0.0.0
HP ProLiant iLO CHIF Driver (X64) 3.10.0.0
HP ProLiant iLO Core Driver (X64) 3.9.0.0
HP Smart Array SAS/SATA Event Notification Service 6.44.0.64
HP Version Control Agent 7.3.5.0
And here the not working servers and the HP software versions:
wmic product where "name like '%HP%'" get Name, Version
Name Version
HP Array Configuration Utility (64-bit) 9.40.12.0
HP Array Configuration Utility CLI (64-bit) 9.40.12.0
HP Insight Diagnostics Online Edition for Windows 9.4.0
HP Insight Management Agents 10.30.0.0
HP Insight Management WBEM Providers 10.30.0.0
HP Lights-Out Online Configuration Utility 4.7.0.0
HP ProLiant Agentless Management Service 10.30.0.0
HP ProLiant Health Monitor Service (X64) 3.20.0.0
HP ProLiant Integrated Management Log Viewer 7.5.0.0
HP ProLiant PCI-express Power Management Update for Windows 1.3.0.0
HP ProLiant iLO 3 WHEA Driver (X64) 3.0.0.0
HP ProLiant iLO CHIF Driver (X64) 3.10.0.0
HP ProLiant iLO Core Driver (X64) 3.9.0.0
HP Smart Array SAS/SATA Event Notification Service 6.32.0.64
HP Version Control Agent 7.3.5.0
I tried various re-installations, service restarts, reboots or using WBEM Provider v10.20 as well, but no luck.
Does anyone have an idea why the SMH does not recognize the WBEM providers?
