Kernel Panic: no init found. Error mounting ext3.
Hi there,
I just upgraded a DL380 with a SmartArray 3200 from RedHat 7.1 to 7.2 and it failed to boot. The last few errors include:
mount: error 19 mounting ext3
pivotroot: pivot_root(/sysroot,/sysroot/initrd) failed: 2
Kernel Panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.
I've searched all the newsgroups, tech docs and whatever else you can imagine and I can't find any solution to this problem. I later installed 7.2 from scratch, creating and formatting all the partitions anew and got the same problem.
Has anybody seen this? Any ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks for your time and help,
Ike
